With Street Fit becoming a new upcoming and popular fitness trend, it is important for clients, customers and partners to know who they are working with and who will be responsible for taking them on a fun, energetic, creative & physically demanding journey!

Currently the only certified Street Fit instructor in Edinburgh, Justine Hayes has always been active in many physically demanding sports. She grew up in Aberdeen and from the age of 5 she was part of a competitive gymnastics club where she was the winner of Scottish Gymnast of the Year 3 years in a row. Justine has also earned her Scottish Gymnastics coaching qualification for level 1 gymnasts.

After 10 year of competitive gymnastics, she decided to branch out into the world of competitive dance and cheerleading in Aberdeen Football clubs own dance team "Redz n Co" . This way she could enhance previous experience with new developed skills and techniques. Justine was one of the members of the team who went to the World Dance Championships in Florida to represent Scotland and came in at the final 20 of over 40 teams.

After over 13 years of performing in many active sports teams in Aberdeen, Justine relocated to Edinburgh where she spent 4 years studying at Queen Margaret University and gained her BA Honours Degree in Drama and Performance.

During her time there she was the Captain of the QMU Dance Society from 2011-2013, where she was one of the committee members responsible for changing dance society history and entering the team into competitions for the very first time! In her 2 years alone as Captain the dance society members doubled each term and encouraged both dancers and non-dancers to get involved with a highly active society which was beginning to get noticed throughout Edinburgh. Justine was responsible for the wellbeing of all members of the society, lead warm ups, dance rehearsals and as well as performing in the routines, she choreographed each routine with fellow committee members.

QMU Dance Society competed in 2 competitions, one in their home town at Assembly Rooms Edinburgh and the other down at Loughborough University, where they were the only Scottish Team competing during the 2 day event. QMU Dance Society did not disappoint and came back with 2 x 2nd place awards and 1 x 3rd place in Jazz and Contemporary categories.

Justine has learned so much from her experience as Dance Captain, it has encouraged her to continue her teaching and dance success into her everyday life. After passing her Street Fit Instructor course in August 2013, she has worked very hard to get the Street Fit name noticed and recognised in Edinburgh. And by the end of 2013, members were growing and Street Fit Edinburgh was being recognised for its fun, creative & fat busting workouts!

Now in 2014, Street Fit Edinburgh classes have branched out into all areas of Edinburgh including, Leith walk, Easter road, Musselburgh & the Meadows.

Justine splits her teaching time between Street Fit Edinburgh and Step It Up Dance, a childrens dance company based in Edinburgh. Justine teaches over 4 schools classes a week and has introduced Street Fit Kids into a lot of her classes and the response has been immense, the kids love it!

"I am so fortunate to be in an industry i love. Street Fit combines everything i enjoy, dance skills, fitness techniques, hip hop and teaching. Therefore i am so glad i get to share that passion with other dance & fitness enthusists. And i cannot wait to kick 2014 off with a bang!" [Justine Hayes 2013]
